As a child I began my love of fitness/sports when I started playing soccer at age 6, a sport I continued for 10 more years. At age 9 I started Karate and I can say that martial arts have been my most enjoyed form of competition and fitness. I’ve participated in boxing and kickboxing smokers and competed in amateur MMA, kickboxing and BJJ. I fought and trained several years with Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez's academy in San Francisco.
I have been a certified personal trainer since 2015. My initial education in exercise science and human anatomy was performed at the PTEC (Personal Training Education Center) in San Francisco, California under the Director of Education, Jen Burke. Including an intensive 3-month, 40 hour per week in classroom theory, and in gym hands on practical education. Afterwards I tested and certified through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), also completing a fitness nutrition specialist certification via NASM. I’m currently certified through ASFA (American Sports & Fitness Association).
As well as training fighters, I have been a group fitness instructor in; CrossFit, kettlebells, boxing, kickboxing, body weight training, as well as mobility, and foam rolling and stretching.
